After India, Nepal, Myanmar, I’m not gonna lie, Korea was a little bit of a shock - WiFi everywhere, clean subway, high prices, skyscrapers, people wearing nothing but black et phones in every hands... Seoul is a surprising mixed city. What I mean by that is that you will find a good mixed between tradition and modernity. For example, for the architecture, in every temple we visited, the background was full of skyscrapers.
We managed to find a couchsurfing in Seoul ( and thank goodness for that when you see the prices of every kind of shelters in Korea). Plus, this one was great ! We shared a small apartment with other travelers, very cosy and in the traditional Korean style - we slept on a futon on a heated floor, and surprisingly we slept very well ! The hosts, that weren’t living with us, wanted to try their new concept of exchange site and we were their Guinee pig. No one panick, I am of course talking of CULTURAL exchanges between travelers and Koreans ;) In fact this couchsurfing was just perfect for us, not only did we have a free beautiful room but we also got to meet locals, two really nice Korean girls, who brought us to very good restaurants ! Because, yes, let’s not forget it, our main interest in Korea was and remain food : barbecues, mixed of small starters, raw octopus which were still moving in the plate, fried chicken & beer and many more delicious dish !!!
PS : news flash - megan has decided to, again, cut her hair ...
