Christmast in Goa

Goa was our treat for Christmas – 4 days of dreamy beaches. For two days, we rented scooter with other people we met at the hostel. We used them to go to various beaches but even just the ride to go there, strolling along the cost, was already amazing! The second day being Christmas day, we came back relatively early to help with the Christmas dinner. Even thought our Christmas wasn’t traditional, we still ended up having a great time! A “secret Santa” was organised which is simply people putting their name in a hat and pulling someone elses name to make to this someone else a gift. It was definitely not easy choosing a present for someone you’ve never even met. Even more when his name(foreign) gives you no clue whatsoever on his gender… We know, we have such hard problems… Anyway, after exchanging gift, we manage to find near the beach an open air non-reggae club. Indeed after a few days in Arambol, we were all overdose with reggae music. Arambol is a city in goa known to be a hippie cliché. In this case the cliché was not lying! There were drums circle on the beach, market full of hippie’s cloths… The third day, while walking in the “jungle” near the beach, we cross path with a circle of people, of course wearing dreads, and smoking a pipe which, I think, was not fill with tobacco. One Indian of the circle was doing yoga, bending in an impossible way for any normal human being, while another one kept on singing some short songs. We’ve spent only 4 days in Arambol but we were still very sad about having to say goodbye to all the persons we’ve gotten close with in the hostel. But I guess this is the hardest part for any traveller: You often have to say goodbye…
