Chengdu: our last stop before leaving china ☹ Megan’s cousin was meeting up with us for the week-end as he’s currently leaving in one of the city around Chengdu. For our first night, the hostel was organizing a cooking lesson, and so we learned or at least tried to learn to make “jiaozi” – Chinese dumplings .The next day we went to an antiques market to buy our Christmas gifts and then Megan’s cousin made us discover what Chinese called “cheese tea”. Yes it sounds really weird but it’s so good (and when you think that we almost missed it…)! We then met up with the two Canadians, Gus and Ciara, that were with us at fanpu farm. We had such a great evening all together in a bar, playing pool or dice game, weirdly enough it felt just like in Europe! The next day we went to a “tea house” in a parc. They are really popular in china. They’re like the equivalent of French “café” except that they obviously mostly drink tea. Being in a tea mood, we then went to a tea market where we did several traditional tea degustation.
And unfortunately, that’s the end for china…
China was incredible! We met so many nice people, every landscape was amazing and I can’t even describe how good the food was for the food. I think that there’s only in china where one can go eat anywhere, even a place where you would have never gone usually, and still eat the most delicious food and so cheap! We’re really sad to leave this country but we’re also super excited to discover India so we hope it’s gonna be as good as china! fingers crossed!
